A UX Case Study on Dexla App, a No-code App-builder for technical and non-technical founders.

Overview

“Making entrepreneurship accessible to anyone with an idea.” That summarizes the mission of Dexla, an AI app builder. I joined Dexla as a Product (User Experience) Designer when it only catered to low-code users who were more technically skilled than the average B2B business owner/founders.

To streamline the process of building web apps seamlessly, I was tasked with redesigning the product. I worked in a product team including 2 designers (Toba and I) to make the product more seamless as a No-code AI App Builder.

We accomplished this by speeding up the web app-building process, allowing business owners to focus more on running their businesses.

Challenges

• Simplifying technical terminologies and app building processes seemed difficult. Even with our technical stack, there was only so much we could simplify while understanding the technical complexities involved.
• Furthermore, we struggled to balance generalizing certain terminologies while preserving their meaning and essence.
• In the absence of a company design system, Dexla’s platform had visual inconsistencies, which made the redesigning process more tedious (This led to the building of Dexla’s Design System).
